1st October 2016

Weather: SE force 2/3, rain and drizzle at dawn, clearing for a while mid-morning.
A short pre-tide visit found Meadow Pipits (120 counted) moving through with 5 Wheatears including a smart male at Little Eye  (below, AEH)

A Reed Bunting appeared briefly at the south end, a Grey and a White Wagtail and 2 Pieds passed overhead, while on the ground were several Robins, Dunnocks and Wrens, 2 Song Thrushes, a Blackbird and a Goldfinch.
Bar-tailed Godwits (below, AEH) have been present in good numbers recently and today was no exception, 74 being counted on the east side where 5 Little Egrets also fed.

Summer birds still showing were 4 Swallows and 2 Sandwich Terns. Only 6 Brent could be found this morning, one of which was a dark bellied bird.
Ringed: 1 Goldfinch, 1 Dunnock, 1 Wren       [ 392-28 ]
