After all the excitement of yesterday hopes were high for a repeat performance, especially as the conditions felt even more 'right' than yesterday with lighter winds, warmer feeling and with more mist around the coast. As it turned out all the Yellow-browed Warblers had gone and no new ones arrived, the best we could muster were 4 Chiffchaffs, a Blackcap, a Reed Bunting, and 3 Grey Wagtails overhead also a small passage of Meadow Pipits.

An after tide visit produced three interesting sightings 3 Black-tailed Godwit (always scarcer at Hilbre than their cousins the Bar-tailed), a Greenshank and most unusually a Stock Dove seen flying south.
Ringed: 1 Chiffchaff, 1 Wren, 1 Robin, 1 Blackbird. [ 412-29 ]
