The first Merlin for some time was found sitting on a wall near the north end, just after a Peregrine was had been entertaining members. Teal were again in evidence, this time a single and then a flock of 8 birds, likewise a single Wigeon and a group of 3 Pink-footed Geese.
Migration was sparse with just singles of Chiffchaff, Wheatear and Skylark and about 40 Meadow Pipits. Over the tide counts of sea birds and waders were made: 1 Red-throated Diver, 4 Great Crested Grebes, 60 Guillemots, 9 Common Scoter, 90 Bar-tailed Godwits, 78 Turnstone. Five Little Egrets were on the shore.
