11th March 2020

Weather: SW force 3/4 later 5/7
A maintenance visit over the (very) high tide found Oystercatchers having to roost on the top of Middle Eye, and a few even on the main island pathway.
A new Stonechat was ringed, one of a trickle of other early spring passage birds going through this morning.
Five Pied and 2 Grey Wagtails were noted, also a Skylark and a flyover Jackdaw. Eighty Common Scoter and 3 Red-throated Divers were the best sea birds, while waders included 118 Curlew, 160 Knot, 130 Turnstones and 4 Purple Sandpipers.
Ringed: 1 Stonechat, 1 Robin.     [ 8-5 ]
