Weather: NW force 4, sunny but with a cold wind.

A brief visit found 6 Meadow Pipits back on the island, a few displaying with one returning ringed bird, also a Rock Pipit and 2 Pied Wagtails passing by, hopefully a sign of many passage birds to come. A comprehensive count of Brent numbered 312, many will still stay with us during this month. Sanderling fed on the north shore, about 400 birds with 58 Grey Plover. Single Grey Heron and Little Egret were about, also 6 Great Crested Grebes floating off the north end.
