A brief after tide visit produced the pair of Eider on the whaleback and a single Whimbrelbut very little else of note.
The breeding birds were in good voice despite the cold WNW breeze and two Little Egrets fished the gutter and egret flash. The island is covered in flowers now and the blue of bluebells is now being replaced by the pink of the Thrift along the west side and the yellow of bird's-foot trefoil. It still looks strange without the mast though!
