Weather: SE force 3, cold wind
Another clear chilly start to the day and the early
ebbing tide saw 122 Curlew feeding on the eastern side of the gutter along with
flocks of Redshank and a few Grey Plover. Migrants were sparse today with a
single phyllosc, a male Blackcap ringed,
also small numbers of finches including
Siskin & Redpoll, a handful of White Wagtails and Meadow Pipits also moved
through. Three males and two females Eider fed around the North end with a
single Common Scoter and four Sandwich Terns flew West. Good numbers of our
Short tailed field voles have been observed recently and a few Small
Tortoiseshell and Peacock butterflies have braved the easterly chill.
Ringed: 1 Blackcap [ 162-18 ]
