7th April 2019

Weather: NE force 1
Some nice early spring migration began with a Woodpigeon on Middle and a Merlin arouind the island, also the 3 Eiders. A single Golden Plover was a good record, but there were few other waders present. About 200 Pink-footed Geese flew north and 2 Canada Geese stayed about. A trickle of  small migrants included 6 Goldfinches, 3 White Wagtails, 4 Wheatears, 3 Chiffchaffs, 6 Goldcrests a Chaffinch, a Greenfinch, a Siskin and the first Willow Warbler to be ringed this year.

Highlight on the sea was a Sandwich Tern and 2 Red-throated Divers.

Ringed: 3 Chiffchaffs, 2 Goldcrests, 1 Willow Warbler.      [ 62-10 ]
