Brief highlights 3rd to 25th June 2012

3rd June:- 2 Arctic Terns, 2 Manx Shearwaters, 2 Swifts trying to roost on the west cliff, a Greenland Wheatear appearing after some rain. ( PSW,SRW,TGW,CJW)
4th June:-  7 Canada Geese, 16 Swallows, 6 House Martins. (DB, KM +2,SRW,CLW,TGW,CJW,GIW)
5th June:-  1 Spotted Flycatcher (ringed), 1 Willow Warbler, 1 Whimbrel. (JE,NDW,SRW,PSW,TGW,CJW)
6th June:-   6 Common Frogs, 1 yellow-tail caterpillar (DB)
7th June:-  20 Gannets, 1 Whimbrel. (DB)
8th June:-  20 Gannets, 15 Manx Shearwaters. (DB)
9th June:-  10 Knot (1 summer plumage) (DB+ESCA)
10th June:- 10 Canada Geese flying south west, 8 Greylags (7+1), 280 Sandwich Terns, 120 Common Terns, 10 Gannets, 5 Little Egrets flying south west plus 7 on the east hoyle bank. (DB+ESCA,JE,PSW,SRW,TGW, CJW)
11th June:-  130 Gannets (north end), 150 Common Tern, 40 Sandwich Tern. (DB, et al)
12th June:-  300 Sandwich Tern, 35 Common Tern, 50 Gannet. (BSB,DB)
13th June:-  4 Egyptian Geese flying along the edge of the east hoyle, previously seen at Burton Mere Wetlands, 1 female Eider, 4 Little Egrets, 200 Common Tern, 100 Sandwich Tern, 70 Gannet. (DB)
14th June:- 1 Yellow Wagtail, blue headed type at the north end, 2 Manx Shearwaters, 350 Common Terns flying south west, 50 Gannets, 14 Swifts, 7 Little Egrets.(DB)
15th June:-  280 Common Terns,50 Sandwich Terns, 50 Gannets, 1 House Martin, 4 Swallows, 4 Swifts.(DB)
16th June:-  2 Gannets, 2 Fulmars in an evening gale with squalls.(DB)
17th June:-  1 Storn Petrel, 2 hours after the ebb tide, 15 Common Scoter,10 Gannets, 1 Guillemot, 4 Great Crested Grebes. 1 Rabbit. (DB+ESCA)
18th June:-  1 phylloscopus warbler seen briefly, (BSB,BD)
19th June:-   1 very late Spotted Flycatcher, 4 Little Egrets.(DB)
20th June:-  1 Magpie, 180 Knot at the north end, 15 Swift, 10 Swallows. (BSB,DB)
21st June:-  15 Great Crested Grebes, 7 Gannets, 4 Little Egrets, 12 Common Scoter, 90 Knot, 16 Curlew.(DB)
22nd June:- (gale force 8/9) 81 Manx Shearwaters,45 Gannets,130 Common Terns, 7 Sandwich Terns, 4 adult Kittiwakes.(DB)
23rd June:- (wind south west force 4 following gales yesterday) 1 sub-adult Pomarine Skua, 5 Arctic Skuas,3 Arctic Terns, 425 gannets, 76 Manx Shearwaters, 6 adult Kittiwakes,13 Great Crested Grebes, 2 Razorbills, 250 Common Terns, 115 Sandwich Terns.(PSW,SRW,TGW)
