 Weather:  ESE force 4

The Goosanders (5males and 10 females) were again off the north end early morning and the Eider (4 males and 5 females) around the lagoon and middle eye over the tide, along with a few of the Scoter. Unusually a single Purple Sandpiper fed around the pool on top of the north end at low tide, although 9 were counted feeding below the obs garden later. 

A Grey Heron was on the west side.

 .....and 2 Shelduck arrived on the east side late afternoon.

A couple of Skylarks and Pied Wagtails passed through, adding to the wintering residents at the moment which include 5 Rock Pipits, 8 Wrens, 2 Blackbirds, 2 Robins and a Song Thrush. Good counts were made of Brent (329) and Grey Plover (560 on the East Hoyle). Sea sightings included 10 Great Crested Grebes.The Kestrel was hunting the island voles.
