Weather: E force 2/3
Leaden skies and a cool east wind looked promising but didn’t really deliver until some slight drizzle mid morning dropped a single Willow Warbler and Wheatear in. A Sedge Warbler was then found near the pond. A few new Swallows flew about and the singing White Wagtail was interacting with another.
Terns appeared again in the mouth of the estuary, 224 Sandwich, 2 Arctic, 12 Common and a good count of 65 Little Terns, also 145 Gannets, 2 Great Crested Grebes and 2 Guillemots. There were 19 Whimbrel and 3 Curlew on the shore, occasionally feeding together.
A Peregrine hunted the shore, getting a reward for it's efforts.
A Robin showed on the island, it could have just dropped in, or its been here for a while as a juvenile Robin is often the first indication they have bred.
Sixteen Littl Egrets are the most seen for quite a while. The five Eiders are still here.
