Weather: N force 3/4
Meadow Pipit (CJ)
Three Common Scoters were close to the island this morning as some have been regularly this winter, 2 of them were on the rocks for a time before flying off around the islands, in addition the many distant scoters were too far off to examine or count. The Brent were estimated at 220, although they seen to readily split into 2 groups to make things difficult. Four Meadow Pipits were on the island and 2 of them were giving their 'parachute' display, they must think spring is just around the corner, only a single Linnet on Middle however was the sole finch found this morning. The waders had about 30 Ringed Plover amongst their number, also 25 Knot and 60 Dunlin and 4 Purple Sandpipers on the whaleback. A Pied Wagtail passed through and 3 Rock Pipits and a Song Thrush were still present.
