8th April 2021

 Weather: WSW force 3/4

A large wreck of Razor clams and starfish led to big numbers of Herring Gulls on the East Hoyle and lots of other gulls on the sea including 325+ Common down the west side all the way to the north end feeding on the flooding tide.

An immature male Eider joined the regular male for the day, while on the sea was a Red-throated Diver, 8 Gannets, 5 Great Crested Grebes, 2 Guillemots and 42 Common Scoter.

Ten Purple Sandpipers were still at the north end, some of which rested atop the life boat station wall and also walked the crossbeam.

Thirty eight of their feeding companions the Turnstones were also around the north end.

Four Little Egrets gathered together on the rocks.

A Raven was about again as it has been most days in the last few weeks. The only real 'migrants' were 2 Goldfinches and a White Wagtail. Not so far mentioned were 128 Brent, 8 Shelduck, 4 Red-breasted Mergansers, 318 Curlew and a Peregrine on the East Hoyle
