6th March 2023

Weather:  W force 4, some rain showers and drizzle.

There were about 8 Common Scoters that stayed in the gutter opposite the obs for the first 2 hours of the tide.

and while the Brent Geese turned up after the tide....

.. only a small number of the regular waders remained about at high tide. A Blackbird was retrapped that was ringed here last year, the small number of other wintering Blackbirds were very active today.

There were also plenty of Wrens but the only Robin seen proceeded to eat all the meal worms out of a potter trap and avoided setting it off. Although damp and not spring like, the weather was not particularly cold and the Lesser Celandine was encouraged to open its flowers.

There were a lot of gull feathers in the SK paddock, possibly evidence that the fox is still about the island. There were a couple of Shelduck at the north end but they may not stay if the fox is present.
