Weather: SE force 3/4 rain showers E 3 by late afternoon
A pleasant few hours before the tide, the highlight being a Stonechat appearing just as the tide flooded and then stayed the morning feeding around the paddocks.
A late Wheatear did the same and quite a few migrants were obvious, including nearly a hundred Meadow Pipits moving with some stopping to refuel.
................. also 36 Linnets stopping to bathe,
........... while 8 Pied Wagtails, 2 Skylarks paid a visit and on the ground was a Goldcrest and 7 Chiffchaffs (including 2 on Middle). Three charms of Goldfinches totalling 46 birds went south, some dropping in to feed.
After dark 2 Redwings flew over and an unidentified bat flew around the north end for an hour, Three female Teal flew in and on the sea 2 Shags were about and 8 Great Crested Grebes were at home.
Many Shelduck were visible as over 350 were counted, Brent numbered 134 and on the shore a Grey Heron with 14 Little Egrets. Some waders about were 110 Turnstone, 118 Curlew, 64 Sanderling (a good number so close to the island after the tide),
also 6 Bar-tailed Godwit and 3 Grey Plover.
Ringed: 2 Robins, 1 Wren.
