A brief visit today produced a good count of 228 Pale-bellied Brent Geese that also included the colour-ringed bird ringed in Iceland in May 2016 and first seen at Hilbre on 23 November 2016.
Three Eiders were still present - a drake and two females.
A single Robin was caught and ringed.
Small numbers of waders were noted along the tide edge including 15 Grey Plover, 32 Redshank, 150 Knot and a more impressive 300 Sanderling.
