2nd May 2019

Weather: NNW 3-4, 8/8 cloud, drizzle then showers

The first quiet day for some time on the islands was no surprise with the shift in wind direction.

However, a couple of Red-throated Divers were noted along with 5 Great Crested Grebes and the pair of Eider.

A single immature female Peregrine was disturbed from north of ‘Buzzard Hill’.

A couple of Greenland Wheatear and a single Willow Warbler were the only grounded migrants of note.

The first Garden Tiger caterpillar of the year was noted in the SK paddock along with a Brimstone moth.
