Somewhat of a first for a Hilbre sea watch today as all the following birds were recorded from the Hoylake Lifeboat 'Lady of Hilbre' at or around the island:- 12 Red-throated Divers, 8 Gannets, 6 Great Crested Grebes, 16 Red-breasted Mergansers, 4 Kittiwakes, and 2 Common Scoters, plus all the regular waders and gulls.
Meanwhile a member of the ranger service (MT) recorded 22 Purple Sandpipers being present on the island.
