2nd May 2018

WNW 3-4, 8/8 cloud heavy rain early on

With the weather not conducive to migration a short visit to the island after the rain had stopped was made simply to check that our prediction was correct - and so it proved.  A very quiet morning was livened up by a single Willow Warbler and a single Whitethroat sheltering in the blackthorn bushes in the lower paddock.

A couple of Greenland Wheatears fought on the south stack.

Waders were however moving through with 8 Whimbrel, 65 Dunlin and a single Knot recorded.
