3rd September 2018

Weather:  NNW 2-3  poor visibility with early rain not clearing till late morning.

Very little about today but a Willow Warbler was singing despite the rain and 2 more were present on the main island along with 4 Robin, 2 Dunnock and a few Linnet. A Wheatear was on the north end of Middle in the evening.

Eleven Swallow were feeding as soon as the rain stopped and were briefly joined by 10 House Martin.

The Eider was off the west side and as the afternoon tide ebbed 21 Sanderling, 131 Dunlin and 53 Ringed Plover were in the gutter.

Included in the 4,000 Oystercatcher present was a partially leucistic bird.

The end of the day was much more pleasant than the start, weather wise.
