9th October 2019

Weather:  WSW 5, increasing, 5/8 cloud, moderate vis

A brief post tide visit produced 7 Little Egrets feeding on the tide edge and in the rocky pools and a Great Crested Grebe was diving in the gutter presumably finding that more sheltered than the open Irish Sea.

A single Swallow battered its way through but the only other passerine of note was a Rock Pipit at the North End as clouds rolled in from the west the day changed from blue sky to dark clouds.

Seventy six Shelduck were by Little Eye and 51 Pale-bellied Brent Geese were around the reef most noteworthy was an increase in Redshank with 144 counted along the east side gutter.  Sanderling were still present at the North End but had reduced substantially with two flocks only totalling 37 birds.
