10th March 2022

Weather: SE force 4/5 veering NW 3 in the afternoon

A quiet day, the only real sign of early spring this morning was a Woodpigeon on the west cliff of Middle Eye and a flyover Skylark, also 5 Pied Wagtails passed across during the day.. There may have been a few new Robins present as there were 2 ringed today.

The regular shorebirds numbered 19 Shelduck, 404 Brent, a Little Egret and a trio of Mallard,

while visitors included 2 Canada Geese flying west and  2 Goosander off the south west side.

Waders were difficult to count because of the very low tide, but there were 148 Turnstone, 52 Ringed Plover, a Grey Plover and 10 Purple Sandpipers fed about the north end.

Eight Meadow Pipits and 5 Rock Pipits were noted.
